You can use it in two ways:

1) Attach the balloon to the toy car connected to the pump and use the lever to inflate it... by pressing the appropriate button the toy car will release from the pump and start running!

2) Attach the balloon to the little alien, inserted in its own spacecraft connected to the toy car - which is in turn connected to the pump. Use the pump to inflate the balloon, and the little alien will fly upward... towards infinity and beyond!
